Comic Market 86: Sayori NEKO WORKs

Crazy Cat Ladies at C86

Sayori of NEKO WORKs was kind enough earlier this year to release a Kantai Collection parody doujinshi that allowed me to break through the steady diet of servile sister catgirls that usually come out of the circle's chambers, but I understand fully that kissin' kittens Chocola and Vanilla are the circle's bread and butter.  The girls grace the cover of NEKO WORKs 04, which historically have been story-free, full-color retrospectives that collect the artist's ecchi and non-h, commercial and just-for-fun works, the last edition of which was released at last summer's Comic Market.

The parody business must have treated Sayori somewhat fairly, though, as the circle will release a second book, Eden/Abyss, featuring more Kantai Collection artwork.

COMIC1☆8: NEKO WORKs / Sayori

Cats now allowed on the bed at Because Japan HQ

NEKO WORKs finally gave me an entry point into their works with last month's completely lovely-looking Kantai Collection parody, the circle's first parody work in more than three years after a steady diet of works featuring original catgirl-sister-maid creations Vanilla and Chocola.  Despite this respite, circle leader Sayori apparently believes that the nekomusume have earned even more rest, and as such has rendered the pair in delicious dakimakura form to be sold at COMIC1☆8 later this month.  The B-sides of the covers certainly suggest a restful slumber for the servile sisters may have to wait, however...

NEKO WORKs to Release Kan Colle Parody

Catgirl sisters yield to battleship sisters

For months and months, I've been looking for an excuse to post something new and exciting from the wonderfully talented Sayori of doujinshi circle NEKO WORKs, but other than the artist's work on eroge, the circle has for years been entirely focused on besmirching the chastity of their darling original character mascot catgirls, Chocola and Vanilla.  After a sudden change of avatars on Twitter to none other than alpha kanmusu Shimakaze, circle leader Sayori revealed the circle's first full-length parody work since Comiket 79's Touhou doujin Eastern Garden 03, with Kantai Collection's Kongou and Haruna at the fore.  The book was previewed at Comiket 85 in December, but not ready for sale until now.  The 28-page B5-sized effort is available for preorder from Toranoana now (home of these images), with a release date of March 21.
