Comic Market 84: Digital Lover / Yuka Nakajima / D.L. Action 78 & 79

Vanguards of the Digital Lover empire meet a new challenger at Comiket 84

Digital Lover has been nothing if not ardent in their devotion to their muses, OreImo's Kuroneko and Index/Railgun's Misaka Mikoto--21 of the circle's last 33 books have featured the Czarina of Chiba or the debutantes of Academy City, with those other 12 books' attention spread across six different series.  Suddenly, a new challenger appears, and with a considerable network of friends to call upon should circle artist Yuka Nakajima be so inclined.

Shinobu Oshino, nee Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade, vampire princess of the Monogatarisphere, has been given the cover of D.L. Action 79.  This marks the first expedition in to the world of ghosts for the circle, and the mind simply reels at the prospect of the circle's mining the rest of the spirited cast for future books.  Shinobu also appears on the circle's C84 omake book, Rough Sketch 77.

As was suggested at the tail end of Sankuri 60's D.L. Action 77, D.L. Action 78 returns the focus on the Railgun girls, with Misaki Shokuhou and Mikoto Misaka sharing cover duty, Mikoto in a trademark sweet plaid pattern while Misaki goes the glamorous gold-trimmed (and two sizes too small) route.  A B5-sized, 36-page effort, this book will surely have a considerable amount of conduct for us to consider.

Kuroneko fans will have the opportunity to relive former glories with their tsundere queen with the release of Digital Lover's second character-centered soushuuhen.  DL-Kuroneko will be released at Comic Market 84, a B5-sized, 172-page book collecting D.L. Action 55, 56, 57, 59, and 60, which were released between September 2010 and May 2011.  The circle's previous character-centered soushuuhen?  You guessed it--Mikoto Misaka's omnibus from Comic Market 81.

Overheated otaku of the black cat persuasion will be able to display their devotion with a fan and a totally sweet don't-pick-me-up-by-there netsuke, while BiriBiri fans will be whisked away to the seashore with a B2-sized tapestry.

Finally, Nakajima revealed an iPhone case featuring his character designs of the girls from Full Metal Panic! author Shoji Gatoh's newest comedy novel project, Amagi Brilliant Park.

Ishikei's First Tankoubon Released--TiTiKEi. No, seriously.

Subtlety, nuance need not apply

Gonzo God Ishikei, of perennial best-selling ero doujin circle Nise MIDI Doronokai, has been featured as the centerpiece artist acquisition of Wani Magazine's newish hentai comic anthology, Comic X-Eros.  Now on its eighth issue, the magazine has offered Ishikei's fans a steady stream of new content beyond his bi-annual Comiket releases.  As featured in Akiba Blog recently, Ishikei fans looking to separate their wheat from the chaff have a new tankoubon at their disposal, Ishikei's first, suavely titled TiTiKEi.  The B5-sized book looks to be 250 pages, comprised of 24 chapters including Ishikei's Comic X-Eros works plus some older materials.  Figure collectors may recognize the blonde debutante on the cover as Chie, rendered in 3D by none other than master ero figure producers Native back in late 2010.  There are two variant cover art options available to consumers, and it appears there will be a significant number of omake items included with the book depending on where one buys it from.

Thank you to Akiba Blog for the cover images.  All other images from Amazon.co.jp

Comic Market 84: Shoujo Kishidan / 少女騎士団 / Oyari Ashito

A Love Live! sister act takes center stage at Comiket 84

Erotic waif generator Oyari Ashito has revealed his circle's intentions for mid-August's Comic Market 84, and, with a new parody book, a soushuuhen, and a dakimakura to offer, his fixation on doe-eyed damsels doing their damnedest on stage continues.  Love Live! School Idol Project sisters Eri and Arisa Ayase will receive the dakimakura treatment, each sister appearing on either side of the cover together:

After receiving a gorgeous dakimakura treatment back at COMIC1☆7, Maki Nishikino graces the cover of Mid Summer Night Dream, along with cover debutantes Rin Hoshizora and Hanayo Koizumi, all looking more than a little bit distressed at the situation they've found themselves in.  One wonders if this books might contain more of a storyline and more sexual content than the gravure-style Love Live! book that was released at COMIC1☆7.

Shoujo Kishidan has also revealed details of their iDOLM@STER soushuuhen to be sold at C84--it looks like it will collect the three In The Harem books from Comic Markets 81 and 82, and Comic Market 83's Love Complex, featuring Yukiho Hagiwara front-and-center.  Ashito also revealed that the soushuuhen will be B5-sized, down from the A4 size that the original releases were printed at.  It's yet to be known if there will be any new artwork contained inside beyond the cover.

Comic Market 84: Clesta / Cle Masahiro / CL-orz 30

Warship worship and a Horizon superfecta from Clesta at C84

Though the circle did stray to other series with a two-book dalliance of CL-orz 26 and 27, Cle Masahiro's Clesta continues to reaffirm its devotion Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, which has been practically uninterrupted since Sankuri 53 in October 2011, at Comiket 84. As always, Clesta's artistry is ravishing, with a remarkably drawn slate of goods for fans to enjoy.  The circle's erotic doujin, CL-orz 30, pairs Tomo Asama and Neito on the cover--this makes Tomo's third cover appearance, and the second for Neito.

Additionally, Asama will be tasked with preventing carpal tunnel syndrome this August, with a 3D wrist health mousepad for purchase:

Horizon's Kimi Aoi, herself already an oft-featured cover girl on Clesta's doujins, receives the dakimakura treatment this time out:

In fact, Aoi will be pulling double duty at the convention; in addition to the new ero doujin, mouse pad, and dakimakura, Clesta will have a soushuuhen harkening back to the start of Clesta's obsession with Horizon for sale at C84.  This particular collection compiles CL-orz 19, 20, 21, 23, and 24 (skipping over the Papakiki! parody CL-orz 22).

It seems that, like so many of his doujinshi brethren, Clesta likes to wind down by waging war with the kawaii Kantai Collection girls, and has put Haruna on the cover of the circle's omake book, CL-ev 11, an eight-page A4 release.

Ashito's King Arthur Figure Bundled with Tittilating Tapestry

A wall covering for your Camelot may inspire you to come a lot

For what feels like several Wonder Festivals, Oyari Ashito fans have been waiting for Gift's release of King Arthur from moéfied world conquest strategy game Eiyuu*Senki, and she has recently appeared for pre-order at figure retailers.  Those who have done so with their usual discounting online purveyors may want to reconsider their purchases, however, because those who pre-order her from Native directly will receive an A3-sized tapestry depicting the Lord of Brittania in a state that fans of the game's erotic content might find more to their interests...makes one wonder why the powers that be chose to give us a fully clothed iteration of the character, does it not?

Comic Market 84: Abgrund / Yusa Saikawa

Triple Feature from the former Otokonoko Ace at C84

The First Lady of Odaiba, Yusa Saikawa of Abgrund, has definitely found her stride after the unfortunate unpleasantness that prompted her to cease creating otokonoko content, and lately has shown a definite proclivity to feature large-chested girls in the lead role of her books.  After her family-oriented original book series ended with a voluptuous mature version of her heroine, Abgrund's next two books were both parodies of established series featuring chesty characters at the point.  It looks like Abgrund has a new original story to tell, starting at Comiket 84, with another curvaceous maiden gracing the cover, and the subtitle certainly suggests that Abgrund hasn't lost its bite when it comes to taboo topics.

Updated 11:49 a.m. 7/15/13:  After a reveal on Toranoana today, Abgrund's Yusa Saikawa confirmed on the Tweet Machine that she'll have a double feature for us at Comiket 84 next month, with not one but two volumes of her new original story for sale.  While this one lacks the pulpy subtitle of the first volume, the recurrence of enormous measurements and individually wrapped latex balloons certainly seems in lockstep with the first.

Update 2 7/26/13 9:27 am:  An update from Yusa Saikawa's tweet machine today suggests that the artist has not only caught the Kan Colle bug, but will try to show her appreciation by pushing a third doujinshi for Comic Market 84, featuring the heavy cruiser Atago.  With only two weeks until the convention, let's hope that Saikawa doesn't overwork herself too badly to get the book to the streets on time.

Update 3 7/27/13 11:14 am:  Coming in hot off of Yusa Saikawa's Pixiv account nine minutes ago, it looks like the cover of her Kan Colle fan book is ready for display.

Comic Market 84: Hyoco Road / ひょこ道 / Hyocorou

Fallout from an all-nighter with Kirino when the Black Cat comes calling?

Hyoco Road knows when it has a good thing going, as evidenced by the circle's recently revealed Comic Market 84 release.  Other than a Mawaru Penguindrum parody from December 2011's Comiket 81, the circle has been all OreImo all the time dating back to Comic1☆4 more than three years ago.  So shall it be at this summer's Comiket 84, with the second installation of Zettai Kirino Ryouiki, a continuation of their last book from the last Big Sight convention, again with Kirino Kousaka gracing the cover.  It's always a pleasure to see what Hyocorou's intensely edgy art style, even though it can produce reactions such as my wife's "What's wrong with her hip?"

Updated 11:41 a.m. 8/9/13:  It appears that Hyocorou is a fan of hack-'n'-slash action, as there'll be some sort of omake for fans at Comic Market 84 featuring the Sorceress from George Kamitani's side-scrolling brawler Dragon's Crown available for convention-goers, as well as what looks to be a limited-edition bookmark depicting a sukumizu-clad Kirino for book buyers.

Comic Market 84: Shadow Sorceress Communication Protocol / 影法師通訊協定 / Hiten

The hunter becomes the hunted at Comiket 84

The Monster Hunter franchise will see its fourth iteration released into the wilds in September--in apparent anticipation of that release, Shadow Sorceress Communication Protocol will entice Comiket 84's attendees with this tapestry of a rather fetching archer sporting the Escadora armor set.

To commemorate the occasion, circle artist Hiten was kind enough to share this progression on Pixiv:

Updated 7/10/13 10:10 am:  Hiten revealed that the circle's ero doujin for Comiket 84 will also be of the Monster Hunter proclivity.  While the cover features ambidextrous ashikoki action, the book's preview images seem to take a more vanilla approach.

Comic Market 84: Mugen@WORKS / むげん@WORKS / Akiduki Akina

Nothing left to chance for Akina's clan at the Summer Comiket

More than a month ahead of the prescribed date, Mugen@WORKS has debuted the finished version of the cover of their The Devil is a Part-Timer! / Hataraku Maou-sama! parody doujinshi to be sold at Comic Market 84.  As was previewed at last month's Sankuri 60, MgRonald's favorite daughter Chiho Sasaki claims the top billing on this production, striking a pose awfully similar to the one the circle granted SAO's similarly endowed Suguha Kirigaya at Comiket 83 in December 2012.

I'm finding an interesting trend with Akina's works that I'm somewhat discouraged by--unlike most doujinshi artists spending 80 percent of their talents on their covers and 20 percent on their books' content, Akina seems to flip that.  Comparing the completely moé depiction in the preview pages to the bizarrely proportioned face on the book's cover, is it possible that Akina's covers are actually hurting, rather than helping, his circle's sales...?

Updated 7/10/13 10:16 am:   Has Akiduki Akina learned his lesson, or is he a glutton for punishment?  Today the circle released a rough sketch as a preview to what might be a second book to be released at the now-just-one-month-away Comic Market 84.  Google Translate suggests that this young lady is an anthropomorphized depiction of the Japanese World War II battleship Kongo--perhaps Akina's angling for a Strike Witches/Upotte!!/Girls und Panzer sort of war-machine-as-girl approach?

Updated 7/20/13 8:25 pm:   With a tip o' the cap to Toshi Nakamura's work on Kotaku, I've gotten myself some knowledge regarding Kantai Collection, or Kan Colle, and more importantly on the game's girls-as-anthropomorphized-warships making it so very popular at the moment.  Mugen@WORKS' second book looks like it'll make it out of drydock in time for Comiket 84, if Toranoana's preview pages are to be believed...
