Checkered past

The 35th edition of Kantoku's Tachiyomi Senyo parody series has been revealed, with No Game No Life's Shino, Sword Art Online 2's Sinon, and Atelier Escha & Logy's Escha Malier present and accounted for amongst the bevy of characters featured.

Comic Market 85: Afterschool of the 5th Year / 5年目の放課後 / Kantoku

All-ages all aces at C85

The Tartan Titan, Kantoku, has revealed Afterschool of the 5th Year's plans for Comic Market 85 at the end of December.  For the 34th time, and the first since April 2013's Comic1☆7, a new entry into the circle's Tachiyomi Senyo visual collection will await fans at Comiket 85.  The circle will be present at Day 1 of the convention, telling us it'll be an all-ages release, though that certainly doesn't make any less worth attention.

Toranoana Comiket Sales Banzuke a Summit of Titans

D.L. domination as the smoke clears from the Tiger Hole

With the closing of Comic Market 84, certainly the hottest Comiket on record temperature-wise if not content-wise, Toranoana Akihabara, that de facto retail mecca of doujin pilgrims, has finally posted their ranking banzuke of the top-selling doujinshi to debut at the event, and what it lacks in surprises it more than makes up in impeccable erotic craftsmanship.  With special thanks to Akiba Blog for providing the knowledge and the images, let's check the banzuke!

 2)  Recollect2 (original) by T2 ART WORKS / Tony Taka

3)  D.L. Action 79 (Monogatari series) by Digital Lover / Yuka Nakajima

4)  Summer in Check (original) by Afterschool of the 5th Year / Kantoku

5)  DL-Kuroneko Soushuuhen 01 (OreImo) by Digital Lover / Yuka Nakajima

Comic Market 84: Afterschool of the 5th Year / 5年目の放課後 / Kantoku

Tartan Titan lightens up for some fun in the sun at C84

Kantoku exists in the rarefied air of anime artists who are popular in spite of, rather than because of, their erotic artworks, whose fans would rather see his creations clothed than unclothed.  Such is the power of the tartan-checked skirt, and we are hopeless to resist the appeal of those patterns, those lines and checks and colors, whether swirling beguilingly from a girl's hip or tracing the outline of her bust.  So shall it be at Comic Market 84--it looks like the Tartan Titan's offering will be a non-ero book featuring original creations in the summer-weight outfits and fabrics we all know and love the artist for.

The artist also revealed a sweet B1-sized tapestry released by eroge publisher CUBE, featuring the girls of [your diary] ready and waiting to serve.

Comic1☆7: Afterschool of the 5th Year / 5年目の放課後 / Kantoku

Wool skirts relegated to secondary status by the Tartan Tsar

Kantoku's offering for this weekend's Comic1☆7 looks to be a simple one, with the 33rd edition of their Tachiyomi collection of genga, along with a rather gorgeous-looking file folder, perhaps inspired by Bioshock Infinite to stick a cute girl on a zeppelin.

Comic Market 83: Afterschool of the 5th Year / 5年目の放課後 / Kantoku

More parody work coming from the King of the Tartans.

An update from Kantoku's Afterschool of the 5th Year, and it looks like no stone shall be left unturned as the circle mines the past year's moesome heroines for inspiration.  I'm excited to see the totality of this book to see what and how many series will be represented, and if it is full-color as the Google translation seems to suggest, this will be a must-have.

Looks like we're also getting a clear file, netsuke, and a bookmark from the circle as well, featuring some of Kantoku's tartan-clad original works...
