Ashito's King Arthur Figure Bundled with Tittilating Tapestry

A wall covering for your Camelot may inspire you to come a lot

For what feels like several Wonder Festivals, Oyari Ashito fans have been waiting for Gift's release of King Arthur from moéfied world conquest strategy game Eiyuu*Senki, and she has recently appeared for pre-order at figure retailers.  Those who have done so with their usual discounting online purveyors may want to reconsider their purchases, however, because those who pre-order her from Native directly will receive an A3-sized tapestry depicting the Lord of Brittania in a state that fans of the game's erotic content might find more to their interests...makes one wonder why the powers that be chose to give us a fully clothed iteration of the character, does it not?

Comic Market 84: Abgrund / Yusa Saikawa

Triple Feature from the former Otokonoko Ace at C84

The First Lady of Odaiba, Yusa Saikawa of Abgrund, has definitely found her stride after the unfortunate unpleasantness that prompted her to cease creating otokonoko content, and lately has shown a definite proclivity to feature large-chested girls in the lead role of her books.  After her family-oriented original book series ended with a voluptuous mature version of her heroine, Abgrund's next two books were both parodies of established series featuring chesty characters at the point.  It looks like Abgrund has a new original story to tell, starting at Comiket 84, with another curvaceous maiden gracing the cover, and the subtitle certainly suggests that Abgrund hasn't lost its bite when it comes to taboo topics.

Updated 11:49 a.m. 7/15/13:  After a reveal on Toranoana today, Abgrund's Yusa Saikawa confirmed on the Tweet Machine that she'll have a double feature for us at Comiket 84 next month, with not one but two volumes of her new original story for sale.  While this one lacks the pulpy subtitle of the first volume, the recurrence of enormous measurements and individually wrapped latex balloons certainly seems in lockstep with the first.

Update 2 7/26/13 9:27 am:  An update from Yusa Saikawa's tweet machine today suggests that the artist has not only caught the Kan Colle bug, but will try to show her appreciation by pushing a third doujinshi for Comic Market 84, featuring the heavy cruiser Atago.  With only two weeks until the convention, let's hope that Saikawa doesn't overwork herself too badly to get the book to the streets on time.

Update 3 7/27/13 11:14 am:  Coming in hot off of Yusa Saikawa's Pixiv account nine minutes ago, it looks like the cover of her Kan Colle fan book is ready for display.

Comic Market 84: Hyoco Road / ひょこ道 / Hyocorou

Fallout from an all-nighter with Kirino when the Black Cat comes calling?

Hyoco Road knows when it has a good thing going, as evidenced by the circle's recently revealed Comic Market 84 release.  Other than a Mawaru Penguindrum parody from December 2011's Comiket 81, the circle has been all OreImo all the time dating back to Comic1☆4 more than three years ago.  So shall it be at this summer's Comiket 84, with the second installation of Zettai Kirino Ryouiki, a continuation of their last book from the last Big Sight convention, again with Kirino Kousaka gracing the cover.  It's always a pleasure to see what Hyocorou's intensely edgy art style, even though it can produce reactions such as my wife's "What's wrong with her hip?"

Updated 11:41 a.m. 8/9/13:  It appears that Hyocorou is a fan of hack-'n'-slash action, as there'll be some sort of omake for fans at Comic Market 84 featuring the Sorceress from George Kamitani's side-scrolling brawler Dragon's Crown available for convention-goers, as well as what looks to be a limited-edition bookmark depicting a sukumizu-clad Kirino for book buyers.

Comic Market 84: Shadow Sorceress Communication Protocol / 影法師通訊協定 / Hiten

The hunter becomes the hunted at Comiket 84

The Monster Hunter franchise will see its fourth iteration released into the wilds in September--in apparent anticipation of that release, Shadow Sorceress Communication Protocol will entice Comiket 84's attendees with this tapestry of a rather fetching archer sporting the Escadora armor set.

To commemorate the occasion, circle artist Hiten was kind enough to share this progression on Pixiv:

Updated 7/10/13 10:10 am:  Hiten revealed that the circle's ero doujin for Comiket 84 will also be of the Monster Hunter proclivity.  While the cover features ambidextrous ashikoki action, the book's preview images seem to take a more vanilla approach.

Comic Market 84: Mugen@WORKS / むげん@WORKS / Akiduki Akina

Nothing left to chance for Akina's clan at the Summer Comiket

More than a month ahead of the prescribed date, Mugen@WORKS has debuted the finished version of the cover of their The Devil is a Part-Timer! / Hataraku Maou-sama! parody doujinshi to be sold at Comic Market 84.  As was previewed at last month's Sankuri 60, MgRonald's favorite daughter Chiho Sasaki claims the top billing on this production, striking a pose awfully similar to the one the circle granted SAO's similarly endowed Suguha Kirigaya at Comiket 83 in December 2012.

I'm finding an interesting trend with Akina's works that I'm somewhat discouraged by--unlike most doujinshi artists spending 80 percent of their talents on their covers and 20 percent on their books' content, Akina seems to flip that.  Comparing the completely moé depiction in the preview pages to the bizarrely proportioned face on the book's cover, is it possible that Akina's covers are actually hurting, rather than helping, his circle's sales...?

Updated 7/10/13 10:16 am:   Has Akiduki Akina learned his lesson, or is he a glutton for punishment?  Today the circle released a rough sketch as a preview to what might be a second book to be released at the now-just-one-month-away Comic Market 84.  Google Translate suggests that this young lady is an anthropomorphized depiction of the Japanese World War II battleship Kongo--perhaps Akina's angling for a Strike Witches/Upotte!!/Girls und Panzer sort of war-machine-as-girl approach?

Updated 7/20/13 8:25 pm:   With a tip o' the cap to Toshi Nakamura's work on Kotaku, I've gotten myself some knowledge regarding Kantai Collection, or Kan Colle, and more importantly on the game's girls-as-anthropomorphized-warships making it so very popular at the moment.  Mugen@WORKS' second book looks like it'll make it out of drydock in time for Comiket 84, if Toranoana's preview pages are to be believed...

One Less Star on the Ground, One More in the Sky: Yasuda Dead at 24

Sudden illness claims Comic LO, doujin artist at Tokyo home

As reported by Anime News Network via the blog of manga-ka Raryu Kitamine, Yasuda, leader of doujinshi circle Yasudanchi, passed away recently.  He was 24.

Kitamine reports that Yasuda was discovered deceased at his Tokyo home after his parents failed to be able to contact him over a course of weeks.  Kitamine also commented that Yasuda appeared to be in good health during early May's Comitia104 and during his May 26th birthday.  The exact date of Yasuda's passing is presently unknown.

Yasuda's professional work was featured in the lolicon-centric Comic LO manga anthology magazine, and his doujinshi work included recent parodies of Haganai, Sword Art Online, with his artistic style lending a distinctive softness and roundness to his leading female characters.  Yasuda's circle's last published book debuted at late April's Comic1☆7, featuring OreImo's Ayase Aragaki, seen at left.

Thank you again to ANN and Kitamine for the coverage, and to the Doujinshi and Manga Lexicon for the cover images.

Sunshine Creation 60: Mugen@WORKS / むげん@WORKS / Akiduki Akina

Akina prepares to go back to the farm for Comiket 84

Mugen@WORKS will participate in this weekend's Sunshine Creation 60, finally offering their Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi-centered Henneko parody in person after a delay that kept the book out of Comic1☆7 and the circle's absence during Comitia104.  In addition, the circle will offer free-of-charge a preview of their Comic Market 84 offering, featuing Chiho Sasaki of The Devil is a Part-Timer! (Hataraku Maou-sama!) in a pose udderly similar to the treatment Suguha Kirigaya received in the circle's Comiket 83 release.  I'm sure the snags that held up the Henneko book threw off Akina's work schedule, so here's to hoping that the circle can get back on the rails and have a smooth Comiket release and beyond.

Sunshine Creation 60: Clesta / Cle Masahiro / CL-orz 29

Wherein we complete the Kübler-Ross model

Cle Masahiro's Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere (Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon) penchant is no longer just a thing, but a way of life.  It is what it is.  There will be another doujinshi convention, and there will be another Horizon parody from Clesta.  Time to embrace it, and the good news is that Masahiro's art is still top-notch.  CL-orz 29 streets this weekend at Sunshine Creation 60 with miko archer Tomo Asama given the cover this time around.

Sunshine Creation 60: Digital Lover / Yuka Nakajima / D.L. Action 77

Not exactly a Sankuri shocker...

No word on a new ero doujin from the Doujinshi James Brown, Yuka Nakajima of Digital Lover, but the circle has revealed an endowed mouse pad of remote-wielding Level 5er Misaki Shokuhou of A Certain Scientific Railgun S, ready to provide carpal tunnel relief at Sunshine Creation 60 this weekend.

Updated 8:36 am 6/21:

Between the appearance on the cover of Rough Sketch 75 and the previously revealed 3D mouse pad, it should come as no surprise to Digital Lover's fans that beloved BiriBiri of A Certain Scientific Railgun has been ousted from the cover of D.L. Action 77 by buxom blonde bombshell Misaki Shokuhou, made official with the reveal of the circle's goods for Sankuri 60.  Along with 75 and 76, the circle will also be selling Rough Sketch 76, and it looks like Kuroneko has returned to the cover of it.  Circle artist Yuka Nakajima is not afraid of work, so I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the circle had both a Railgun and an OreImo book at Comiket 84 in August, though there's plenty of time for another series to capture the circle's interest between now and then...

Sunshine Creation 60: Abgrund / Yusa Saikawa

Ba-ba-ba BA-baah, I'm lovin' her

Once the Queen of the Otokonoko, more recently the Star of Family Matters (apologies to Reginald VelJohnson) Abgrund artist Yusa Saikawa seems to be on a new track with her latest releases.  After Comic1☆7's GJ-bu parody featuring the busty Megumi Amatsuka, this weekend's Sunshine Creation 60 will mean the debut of a new book featuring the equally endowed MgRonald's staffer Chiho Sasaki of The Devil is a Part-Timer! (Hataraku Maou-sama!).  In addition to the ero doujin, Abgrund will have a book cover, conveniently sized for the light novel series, kemonomimi key chain, and shopping bag all featuring Miss Sasaki for sale at the show.

Sunshine Creation 60: Alpha to Yukaina Nakamatachi / 有葉と愉快な仲間たち

iM@S Cinderella Girl pillow parade continues with 765 Productions' chuunibyou darling at Sankuri 60

While Alpha to Yukaina Nakamatachi has never done an iDOLM@STER parody doujinshi, their portfolio of defrocking and deflowering the idols-in-training in dakimakura form grows ever larger at this weekend's Sunshine Creation 60.  Perhaps seeking to cash in on the recent-cour fascination of chuunibyou princesses like Kobato Hasegawa and Rikka Takanashi, Alpha has tabbed the delightfully delusional Ranko Kanzaki for their next pillow cover.

Just like the Airi Totoki version from Comic Market 83, and the Kanako Mimura piece from Comic1☆7, Alpha has taken inspiration from a couple of Ranko's rare card versions for the dakimakura.

In addition to the dakimakura, Alpha will have a new book of rough drawings, Candy Position, following the theme of sweet stuff from the circle, with Chocolate, Cream Puff, and Pudding Position already released at Sankuri 58, Sankuri 59, and Comic1☆7 respectively earlier this year.
A tip o' the hat to the good folks at Project iM@S for the card images!

Vlad Tepes the Soon-to-be-Impaled?

Second of Ashito's world-conquering waifs gets dakimakura'd

Back in late April, in conjunction with the confirmation of a PS3, Vita, and Mobile port of Eiyuu*Senki, erotic stick figure maestro Oyari Ashito revealed the results of a poll asking which of his moefied historical conquerors, philosopher kings, tyrants, and man-myths fans would like to see receive the dakimakura treatment, with infamous American gunslinger girl Billy the Kid taking top honors.

At the tail end of the pertinent post, Ashito hinted that the polling results were close enough that a second dakimakura for the runner-up would be justifiable, and today, going along with the reveal of Eiyuu*Senki's release date, Ashito has defrocked and bedded another of his maidens for our gratification...

It's none other than Vlad Tepes, the Impaler of Wallachia, the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula, in her full goth-loli glory.  Vlad retails for 11,000 yen, with reservations for order due by June 25.
