Comic Market 86: WIREFRAME / Hagure Yuuki

On the idol comeback trail

It's somewhat shocking to find that it's been a full two years since WIREFRAME's Yuuki Hagure has gifted doujinshidom with new content, but it's true--after two skipped Winter Comikets and a soushuuhen at last summer's event, the last new doujin the circle produced was August 2012's iDOLM@STER parody, Cinderella Festa.  From iDOL to idle and back to idol, it's Love Live!'s Eli Ayase on the cover of the circle's Comic Market 86 release.

The circle has also revealed an omake booklet and a t-shirt for sale, both featuring Kantai Collection's Amatsukaze.

After months of radio silence, word from WIREFRAME camp has finally been heard, and the news is not good.  For reasons not known to this writer, Hagure Yuuki had to announce that the circle would not have a book or any goods for sale at Comic Market 85.  The circle will be present at Day 2 of the event, Monday the 30th, with naught but an A4-sized illustration card of Kantai Collection's Murasame to dispense free of charge to fans.  Considering that the circle released a soushuuhen and omake book at C84, and a dakimakura and omake book at C83, one has to look all the way back to August 2012's Comic Market 82 to find a new full-length book from the circle.

Wireframe takes a victory lap at C84

A bit of a disappointment from the Wireframe camp in anticipation of Comic Market 84 this weekend, as circle artist Hagure Yuuki revealed plans to publish a collection of the circle's past few years of work, with parodies of iM@S, OreImo, High School DxD, Maken-Ki!, Angel Beats!, and more.  Idolm@ster girls Miki Hoshii and Airi Totoki get new artwork on the cover of the omnibus, DDD-Wireframe soushuuhen.

It also seems that Hagure has caught the Kan Colle bug spreading through the ranks of doujinka, with Shimakaze on the cover of the Wireframe Extra vol. 8 omake book, and Atago possibly making an appearance as new content inside of the soushuuhen.

No news is good news, except for WIREFRAME doujin fans at C83

A bit of a disappointment from the WIREFRAME camp for this weekend's Comic Market 83; while there will be some Sword Art Online parody goods for sale, after an exceptionally busy year it seems that the circle will not be featuring a new full-length ero book at the final convention of 2012.  The circle's decision is not unprecedented, with a similar showing at Comic Market 80, and at the least there will be some reading material, with the seventh volume of WIREFRAME Extra featuring Suguha Kirigaya.  Also for sale will be a large-format color poster of the same Suguha image.  By and large, though, it looks to be a dakimakura'd Asuna Yuuki doing the heavy lifting for the circle this convention.
