Karory has been awfully busy of late with a pair of art books being released this year, but KAROMIX has ramped up production somewhat.  After skipping Comic Market 85, the circle released, for lack of better understanding, a handful of STUFF at April's COMIC1, and KanColle Haruna parody Karoful Mix EX12 at Sankuri 64 in June.  While details are still forthcoming, it looks like the experimental Kagerou sister, Amatsukaze, will be doing the heavy lifting for the circle at this convention.  The smokestacked one's dakimakura makes me smile if only because of the absurdity of her stockings being laid bare...

...while it looks like she might also be called into service on Karoful Mix EX13, though there's no formal book reveal yet.

Karory's original character designs are nothing to ignore, either, and fans will have access to a B2-sized tapestry for sale at the event.

While the circle has been far from dormant, with not one but two art books scheduled for release this year, for the first time since last summer's Comic Market 84, Karomix finally has a new erotic parody doujin to offer fans.  To the surprise of absolutely no one, it's Kantai Collection-themed, with Haruna on the cover.

In which my failure is laid bare

My failure as a fan is exposed with this release from Karomix for COMIC1, as the circle has a whole bunch of STUFF being offered and not a word of it translatable via Google due to the text being embedded in the image.  Fortunately, Karory tweeted out the list of goods to tell me there's a life-sized tapestry of original character creation Aomi Maika, a clear file folder, a book finished of Kancolle artwork, an omake booklet, and a rubber cell phone charm to top it all off.

Months upon months of radio silence from super-ero-kawaii creator Karory has paid off in spades!  The once-prolific artist's lack of communication or new works has been explained away with the release of the artist's first mook, Karorful a la carte, released late last week on the streets of Japan.  The 160-page book features the same original character creation figure collectors were surprised by at Comic Market 83, and looks to contain a cadre of retouched beauties from the artist's catalog of originals previously featured on the circle's website.  While I greatly look forward to Karorful Mix EX12, whenever it might come into being and whatever series it might parody, big congratulations to a most deserving creator!

Karomix has definitely swung their attention from producing doujinshi to festooning all matter of goods with their distinctive artwork--the circle only produced one doujinshi, the Attack on Titan parody Karorful Mix EX11, last year.  So it goes at Raigeki-sen Yoi! 6 at Tokyo Big Sight and Osaka's Comic Treasure 23 this weekend, as the circle has revealed a preview of a dakimakura of Kantai Collection's Haruna.

Goods business must be good business for Karory

After maintaining uncharacteristic radio silence in the weeks leading up to Comic Market 84, we finally have Karory's assortment of offerings at Tokyo Big Sight, and, puzzlingly, the circle's new ero doujin seems to be close to an afterthought for the usually proud and prolific group.  Karorful Mix Ex11 features Attack on Titan's Mikasa Ackerman on the cover, but the book is buried under a dakimakura of the same original character creation that was figurized at December's Comiket 83, and what I would guess is a book of original character designs, KAROLOG, offered as one part of a set of goods.

A victory lap for a circle that's come a long way in a short time

After more than two months of radio silence, signs of life have finally emerged from Karory in time for this weekend's Comic1☆7.  While the circle has some new artwork to show off, especially in tapestry form, it looks like the circle will be looking back into its catalog with the circle's first soushuuhen.  With Sena Kashiwazaki and Yozora Mikazuki Corrected 9:30 am 4/19 Kuroneko gracing the cover, it'd be fair to expect the Haganai parodies Karomix EX 4, 5, and 6 to appear, but those three books make up only about half of the advertised 149-page length.  The quality of Karory's artwork has improved by flying leaps and bounds in the past few years, and the circle deserves to take a moment to celebrate its progress with this release. 

Updated 9:30 am 4/29:  Karory's soushuuhen is now available for order from Toranoana, and the preview pages confirm that it's Kuroneko on the cover, rather than a long-haired Yozora Mikazuki as previously thought.  This also makes me believe that Karory's two previous OreImo books, Karorful Mix EX 2 and 3, are part of the soushuuhen.  The inclusion of those two would still come up short of the advertised 149-page length.

Wedded bliss for our SAO heroes, and a surprise for...figure collectors?

Making us sweat it out until just about the last possible moment, Karory has finally revealed his circle's releases for Comic Market 83, and as a complete stunner, the biggest news is not their ero book but rather an exclusive and glorious-looking 1/8 figure! 

The ero book, Karorful Mix EX10, will feature Sword Art Online's Asuna Yuuki, apparently in post-wedding consummation mode; this makes the third consecutive SAO parody book produced by the circle, matching the trifecta of Haganai books that made EX4, 5, and 6.

The figure is a 1/8 scale schoolgirl with apparent cast-offability; I don't recognize the character, but that certainly doesn't mean much of anything.

 

I'm thrilled to see Karory getting some 3D love--it is richly deserved!

Sunshine Creation 57: Karomix / Karory

It was a very well kept secret, even on Karory's own website until just recently, but there IS a new Karomix doujinshi to be had, and the Asunanists shall continue to be hard at work.  Following up the circle's C82 creation, Karorful Mix EX9 straps on the Nerve Gear once more--let's home the sensitivity is cranked up to 11, shall we?

After Karomix's last couple of releases being heavy on loli characters (from Haganai and Papakiki), it's nice to see the circle feature a more full-figured leading lady once more.  There's no doubting Karory draws a luscious female form, but it must be said that sometimes Karoful Mix books seem incomplete; the faces and expressions are generally very good, but it seems like Karory seeks a signature look for the characters' physiology that detracts somewhat from the finished product.  It seems like much of the skeletal and muscular structure, especially between the navel and the knees, is an afterthought.  I won't buy this release new, but will be on the lookout for it at secondhand sites for sure.
