Comic Market 86: Tony Taka / T2 ART WORKS

Cocktail hour 

After gifting fans with a rare and glorious parody doujinshi (of Kantai Collection, to the surprise of no one) at Comic Market 85, it looks like it's back to form for Tony Taka at C86, with the reveal of T2 ART WORKS' goods collection.  As has been the case with the overwhelming majority of Tony's recent doujin efforts, the preview pages of this work seem to indicate a collection of remastered older works and new art pieces, with no cohesive theme or storyline to consider.

A dakimakura of an original character creation invites us to consider the physiology of the catgirl.

Tony's latest entry in the Shining series of RPGs, Shining Resonance, heavily involves music and instruments into the battlefield, and it seems that the artist has carried that inspiration onto a cello-toting nymphet as a poster and a clear layered file.  SEE YOU IN FIGURE FORM SOON, MY DEAR.

Orchid Seed's efforts produce lush blossoms

Moeyo's Best of Bust 2013 has posted, with the efforts of two companies (and the designs of one particular ultimate god of erotic character creation) combining to take eight of the outstanding otaku's web resource's ten favorite sets of PVC breasts from the past year.  Without further ado, the list:

Generally speaking I have no troubles with this list whatsoever, worthy candidates all, but as a card-carrying member of the DFC Fan Club, I feel most definitely underserved.  Surely there were some premium-quality PVC pettanko A-cups to be found on the stock shelves of the retailers of Akiba, no?

Kanmuse can't be ignored, corner Tony into a parody at C85

Finally, a franchise that Tony Taka couldn't ignore!  For the first time since August 2011's Comic Market 80, T2 Art Works will offer for sale an erotic parody doujinshi, as Kantai Collection's Kongou-class sister-battleships Haruna and Kirishima find themselves entwined on the cover of the circle's offering for Comiket 85.  Tony has confirmed that this, like his last two books, will be an A4-sized release totaling 36 pages, 24 of which will be full-color.  The preview page suggests that the heavy cruiser Atago will feature heavily in the erotic content of the book.

The past several Comic Markets have gone by with Tony either focusing on original artworks or mining his own characters for content; the last parody doujin he produced was August 2011's Chitchakunaiyo'!!, starring Popura Taneshima of Working!!  It remains to be seen if it's just the Kongou sisters or if other kanmuse will get involved in the festivities, but one way or another, it's a return to what made Tony Taka the S-Class artist he is today.

Update 1, 9:53 pm 12/26/13:  Tony has revealed his circle's slate of goods to be offered at C85, and it's a big bet on Kantai Collection's floating menagerie as expected.  A blown-up and rotated version of the ero parody's cover, featuring Kirishima and Haruna in repose, is converted into a calendar.  Tony's C85 shikishi features Shimakaze, perhaps the game's first iconic character, making a bit of a personal adjustment, while Nagato is caught in a bit of a more heated moment.  Kongou is featured on the circle's goods bag, sharing that billing with the fairy girl that graces the cover of his 2014 calendar.  Finally, a dakimakura of what looks like Akagi, but yet I'm 100% isn't Akagi, will keep me guessing until someone sharper than I am can correct me.

With the closing of Comic Market 84, certainly the hottest Comiket on record temperature-wise if not content-wise, Toranoana Akihabara, that de facto retail mecca of doujin pilgrims, has finally posted their ranking banzuke of the top-selling doujinshi to debut at the event, and what it lacks in surprises it more than makes up in impeccable erotic craftsmanship.  With special thanks to Akiba Blog for providing the knowledge and the images, let's check the banzuke!

Another A4-sized retrospective from the King of Doujin Kings at C84

The Tony Taka character creation business is big business--one need only consider the unrelenting deluge of somewhat similarly faced PVC damsels cascading from the studios of Kotobukiya, Alphamax, Max Factory, Native, Arcadia, Good Smile Company, Clayz, and on and on and on.  Quite truly, someone new to the doujin scene could be excused from not knowing that Tony honed his craft just like countless artists will next month, by producing and publishing parody ero doujinshi--it's been two years since Tony last parodied a franchise he was not directly involved with, a Working!! parody from Comic Market 80 in August 2011.

At Comic Market 83 in December 2012, T2 Art Works released its first A4-sized publication, Recollect, which included 64 pages of some of Tony's finest original erotic character creations as well as erotic parody portraits, reproduced and retouched for the larger format.  So too shall it be at next weekend's Comic Market 84, as revealed today on Tony's website.  Recollect2 will be another 64-page A4-sized retrospective of some of Tony's finest works, both of his own characters as well as parodies.  This book's cover girl clearly attends the same school as Recollect's cover girl, and Alphamax revealed at Wonder Festival its intentions on producing that previous girl in 3D form...could we have a double display to look forward to in the future?

T2 Art Works' slate of goods for sale at the convention is as impressive as ever, with a dakimakura of an original creation as well as other various goods and sundries.  More details to come!

Tony Taka Curls Up in the Tiger Hole for Summer Exclusives

This morning, Tony Taka fans were greeted to his website by this hibiscus-haired young lass, bearing good news as well as her ample chest.  An exclusive distribution deal between Tony and the good people at Toranoana has been struck to offer a handful of T2 Art Works-branded goods, available for pre-order now to be released in mid-Summer.  The assortment of tapestries and dakimakura should be able to more-or-less completely cover your six-tatami otaku lair with fawn-eyed Tony damsels--let's see if Tony can be bothered to produce a new doujin for Comiket 84 to add some reading material to the scene.

When Tony Taka Wins, We All Win

Several updates from Tony Taka today, the first time we've heard from the artist since his mid-February announcement of his non-ero art and creation wing, Albion Works.   First, the artist will be the centerpiece of a traveling art exhibition by Art Jeuness featuring original works and concepts from the Shining series of video games, starting today.  With the announcement, a gorgeous new Swan Lake-inspired piece welcomes visitors to his site:

Thankfully, Tony has not abandoned his ero roots, and he revealed a new edition of his Fault!! tennis eroge franchise.  Fault!! Service Ace compiles Fault!! A and S, and a special edition will include a dakimakura featuring Ai Saeki and Mio Sugiyama on one side, and Reiko Date Wingfield and Maya Kamiwazumi on the other.

Comic Market 83: T2 Art Works / Tony Taka

A4-sized Tony Taka?  A4-sized Tony Taka!

The king of doujinshi kings has revealed on his website that, for the first time, he will be presenting an A4-sized ero book to his reading constituency at this weekend's Comic Market 83.  Long the domain of gonzo specialist Ishikei, the A4 paper size is more akin to a standard-sized periodical in the West, rather than the Golden Age comic book-sized B5 that dominates the doujin landscape.  According to Tony's update, it looks like the book will have remastered versions of previously published works as well as new content. 

I personally love every last inch of the new cover girl, from the headpiece to the expression to the color combination of her seifuku to the splendid stretch of her adductor connecting her leg to her groin.  I have no idea if she's a completely original creation for the book or part of a larger work, but I intend to find out all that I can.  On the goods side of thing, we get a dakimakura with a girl in a pilot uniform (apparently a first officer, judging by her epaulets) on one side, and a girl in shibari and bloomers on the other, along with a calendar and other goodies to fawn over.
